Vimeo Picks Empty Vimeo Picks

Post by Simon_Icehouse on 21st November 2017, 17:10

I thought I should open a thread to share some of my own Vimeo selections sometimes.

I begin today with 3 Staff Picks released recently, in different genres, that you could find of interest (or not):

Beautiful 2d animation that reminds me a bit of the work of Yawen:

Fox And The Whale from robin joseph on Vimeo.

This one is mysterious and well done:

T from T - the movie on Vimeo.

Finally that's a totally weird film, said to be "an urgent call to growth"

IN-SHADOW: A Modern Odyssey from Lubomir Arsov on Vimeo.

What a superb collection. What variety, skill, and visual brilliance!

For me each film totally stands on it own, although (and there is no surprise here!), for me the last (the "totally weird" one) is my personal favourite.

More please!

Simon thanks for sharing!

They are brilliant as Roger says. There are real gems hidden in the immense universe of Vimeo and Youtube (and other platforms and disciplines of course), I will never cease to amaze.

I love all the videos but especially the last two ("T" and "In-Shadow: A modern Odyssey").

Roger, even for me, your video is weird.. but I feel strangely attracted! xDDD

Oh yes I like weird things too, that's why I shared with you A Modern Odyssey Wink On top of that, what is described in this film is far from idiot imo.

Brainticket is really REALLY weird Terrible Joke

Other short films I've found of interest:

This is about perception and illusions, Roger could like it:

Illusions (Part One) from Animal on Vimeo.

This film, I don't like the end a lot, but the 3 first situations are worth looking at:

VOICE OVER (English subtitles) from Kamel Films on Vimeo.

We are billion year old carbon
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden

What do you think of these?

A music video with interesting visual effects by night, music Max Cooper (I think that my cousin did a video for him last year).

Resynthesis - Max Cooper from Kevin McGloughlin on Vimeo.

This is totally crazy and weird and insane but it's a good 3d work that you could enjoy. Just look, you'll see!

It Is My Fault from Liu Sha on Vimeo.

Yes I've just found the music video of Max Cooper directed by my cousin, here it is:

Max Cooper - Order from Chaos - Official Video by Maxime Causeret from Max Cooper on Vimeo.

Another excellent selection.

Funny isn't it? I get back onto Vimeo to re-discover I have a profile there (I cannot remember when I set it up), and who do I find under my "Following"? Well Simon (of course), but also Yawen and Yves, and Maxime.

I must be getting old - I keep forgetting things!

Wow I loved these ones!
I'm always amazed by the ideas and energy put in short films. That's really inspiring and motivating!

First one is an abstract film made of fractals and realistic render, very beautiful

Or noir. from Florian DKS on Vimeo.

This other one is my favorite. A caricature of our society with rats instead of humans, brilliant animation, must see!

Happiness from Steve Cutts on Vimeo.

Found this one today. I thought it was just like the kind of film that John Carvajal would do if he was making films!
