This is really awesome, I've been looking forward to give it a try since it was announced. Never had the chance! Thanks a lot Yaz, because I would have missed this opportunity!
Again I don't know when I will have the time to play all these games, but it's a good idea to save them for later (Next Winter?)

This is crazy when you think of it. Imagine the time they spent on making this game (money and people talents) and they give it for free. It's really cool, I like the idea, but small indies shouldn't do that. Unless there is a hidden agreement with Epic that benefits to both. I'm not sure however that it gives useful ad to these games. It does ad of course, but does it mean it works and that people will buy these games more in the future? They will probably wait for all games to become free.

Crazy indeed!
First of all, I'm pretty sure that this game has already been profitable since the release. Secondly, I suppose Epic gives them money for that. After all, the goal is more to promote the store than the game itself.

It's clear that there is some kind of agreement for these cases, I don't believe that the developer gives away his game.
In fact, I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that some stores (less Steam of course) in certain cases, prepays an estimate of sales to new releases that enter in their store. For example, they estimate that your game will sell 10,000 units in the next 6 months and they pay you that, then they give you the agreed % of sales. Of course they will demand exclusivity or permanence of X time and more things to compensate the investment.
I'm not sure about what I said because I read it a long time ago and I don't remember very well but it was something like that. Which I find a wonder to fund small studios until their game has real benefits. Of course if the demands are reasonable.

It is possible that Epic pays them indeed. It could be based on the number of downloads of the game. In return Epic benefits of a good advertizing and new people are creating an account on their store. That's a good way for them to attract potential customers.
Juanjo what you describe doesn't seem impossible to me. It sounds very interesting for small teams indeed. I wonder if GOG could be working like this. I have never heard of stores doing that nowadays, but I'm sure they exist.
