Cyberpunk Game Jam 2019

Hi there!

Today has started this game jam with a very interesting theme ...


The idea is to create a game inspired by the cyberpunk culture, no matter the genre or type of game you want to do, as long as you respect the theme... it's fantastic, don't you think?

Personally, this is a theme that has always fascinated me... dystopian worlds, technology, sci fi... I love it! A lot of ideas come to my mind and it's inevitable to remember films like Blade Runner, games like Observer or TV series like Ghost in the Shell.

I'm seriously thinking about participating, can help me escape a little from the world of Delusion... and it's been a long time since I participated in a jam... it's my drug, you know

If today I find an interesting idea I will participate and if not... I probably miss it, I don't want to waste much time on this either.

Is someone else interested in participating? I know it's an theme that many of you like... Simon, Yaz, Denis, someone?

Me too I don't know if I have the time, but as a scifi game dev, I would love to work on a cyberpunk project for once... I'll think about, but in 7 days it's short!

Ormusto, I know how you feel... you must be focused on your project, but sometimes it's good to do something different, even if it's small, your mind refreshes!

If you set up a team I can help with set modeling or blueprints (UE4 only) OR if it's 2D I can use Multimedia Fusion Developer (I own a licence).

As I wrote on TheIcehouse Discord, I will be busy all weekend, for a wedding and Mother's Day. So, it only leaves me five days to complete a project, which seems very short (I know it will disappoint "my fans", but it's time to face the reality: I'm just a man Like the others. No "hero" here ^^ ") However, I take note that I am not the only user of Fusion: I am delighted to hear this ! If you have already realized projects (even unfinished) on this tool I would love to see your work ^ _ ^

I've started using The Games Factory when I was a teenager and it was my first videogame dev tool. I remember begging my mother to buy this big carton box which promess being able to make games without writing a single line of code!!

I made a lot of proto with it. Many years later I bought MMF Dev.

Unfortunatly the only two games I've released with this tool are bad (I was good at using the tool but a total noob in design).

When I will have more time I could use this tool again and do something good. Maybe a game jam can help (never really tried that but seems a good way to learn game design).

There will be the Icehouse Game Jam this Summer to make experiments You will have almost 2 months to create a game, by taking your time. We still have to define the rules, fine the theme and communicate, but please keep some of your strengths for this event!

I will participate for sure!

Well, finally I think I'll try to do something... I already have some ideas but I need to polish them, I hope to have the story ready today.
Only a little more than 5 days left... it's going to be complicated! (I love it)

Can't wait to see the result! Cyberpunk and Scifi are beyond my favorite themes
