7 Days - Scream Empire Jam 2019 [Juanjo]

Hi there!

I just wanted to say that I created a very short and experimental horror experience for Scream Empire Jam and it's now available for download (Win and MacOS):

I must say that this is not exactly a game... it's a very short experiment (it can be played in a few minutes) that focuses on creating an unpleasant and disturbing atmosphere, so:

This experience contains weirdness, dismemberment, gore, body horror and unpleasant atmosphere.

This time I've learned about sound design... something I wanted to practice for a long time ago.

I think this is the weirdest and most disturbing project I've developed so far... my darkest and most macabre side has come out... here there are no light... here only there are pain.

Again, be careful with the content.

Yeah, I understand you but with this experiment I wanted to delve into the power of the mind and imagination, sometimes, what we imagine is much worse than what we see. That is why fear has always been associated with ignorance and uncertainty.

And I also didn't have time to do more

By the way, I have been told that the MacOS version doesn't work (I have not had time to try it), if someone plays it and has problems, please tell me. Anyway I will try to fix it today, sorry.

Yeah it doesn't make sense.

It's not that the MacOS version doesn't work. We can't compile. My brother tried with Mac at his school but he failed to compile the editor because he doesn't have the right version of XCode and can't upgrade.
Also He needs to compile from the source because the packaged version of the editor crashes with a seg fault (he tried with multiple MAC).

When I will have enough money I'll buy my own MAC.

Interesting... thanks for the info. Anyway I'll test in my MacBook Pro to see what really happens and try to fix it.

Ok, I've reuploaded the Windows version with some optimization improvements, I hope now works better. The MacOS version is not ready yet, still working on it.

What an amazing experience! I just don't know what to say. Juanjo - you have achieved one of the most amazing levels here. Implication, rather than explicit revelation - That is such a remarkable level of skill!

After playing (and voting) some games I must say that there are some very interesting projects... have you played some?

- Whispers from the sky. I love the aesthetics, although it's a bit confusing.

- Asleep. An interesting story and mechanics... but a bit complex for a jam in my opinion.

I've played some more but... there's not much quality.

The Scream Empire jam voting is over and "7 Days" has got the 5th place as best game and the 2nd place as scariest game!!

To be honest I didn't expect a good place, but sometimes the experiments give you pleasant surprises!
