[Scream Jam 2019] [Juanjo] HOUSEBOUND

Hi there!

First off sorry, for not to say nothing here about this project and my participation in this jam, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish on time... but I finally made it.


Housebound is a short experience of horror and paranormal events set in an old house. The game has been created only by me in a few days for Scream Jam 2019.

Although this project seems short and simple, it has helped me to deepen programming, and I have learned more than I thought, so another successful jam!

Well, there is 1 day left to finish the voting, and whatever happens, personally I want to thank everyone for your support, Housebound is still in the top 10 (currently number 2) of the best games on Itch.io and exceeds 1500 downloads... I didn't expect! Really, thank you all for your support!

Mh this real torture house looks like a total crazyness for mental health to me, but I am not a strong warrior to judge it...

What is this MacKamey Manor? The house of Raymond Reddington?

McKamey Manor is a real life torture house. There is one in Tennessee and another in Alabama. You have to fill out a 40 page waiver, have health insurance, and pass a doctors physical. You also pay with dog food.

The "employees" treat you as if you have been kidnapped and physically torture you for many hours. If you can make it through 10 hours you win 20,000 US dollars. No one has been able to make it that long. They tie you up, gag you, choke you, put you under water, cover you in disgusting slop, force feed you different disgusting things, probably the dog food you paid with. Make you drink unknown substances. If you puke they make you eat it or smear it on another person's face. They cut and pull out your hair, teeth and fingernails. During all this you are not allowed to touch them or do anything.

Pretty disturbing, and there is actually a waiting list of thousands of people. Obviously crazy and mentally unstable people!

Now we can understand why Trump got elected! (And Regan, and Nixon, and many others?) I'm sure other European/World leaders have used the results from this location as well (also leaders like Assad, Gaddaafi, Netanjahu, etc.) The owner wouldn't happen to be of European descent (c. 1940s?)

Yeah you'r probably right !! evolution still don't erased reptilian brains worldwide despite tons of energy consumption, intelligence, progress and efforts to smother it. But we still work harder to be replaced by better machines, we are close !
